Taking advantage of the energy credits – Easy as 1-2-3
Windows and doors are a critical structural element of the home and require significant knowledge when considering replacement. As the innovator of energy efficient window and door technologies for more than five decades, Weather Shield has created a one-stop-shop to help you navigate through everything from the anatomy of an energy-efficient window to the energy credits currently available.
In the end, we hope to help you make the process simple, easy and in the long-run, help you save money on your energy bills for years and years to come.
Step 1: What’s available and how much can I save?
You’ll need to sort through what is currently available and what applies to you – from government incentives and rebates to IRS tax forms and NFRC labels.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides homeowners with a credit of 30% up to $1,500 of the total cost for window and door replacements through December 31, 2010. And keep in mind that only replacements on existing homes apply (no new construction or rentals). Click here for more details
Weather Shield’s “Live Smart Replacement Rebate” offers homeowners up to $550 when replacing windows or patio doors with Zo-E-Shield® products. As most Zo-e-shield products qualify for the ARRA tax incentives, homeowners can capitalize on the “Live Smart Replacement Rebate” in conjunction with the ARRA tax credit. This could save homeowners more than $2,000 for a qualifying window and door purchase.
